New Director Named
Lookout Mountain Community Services is pleased to welcome Mr. James Moon as the new program director for our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Program, Kaleidoscope.
Kaleidoscope is a CARF International accredited program designed to promote independent advancement for persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. In keeping with the Lookout Mountain Community Services tradition to serve and enhance the lives of every member of our community, through a strength-based approach, a team of dedicated staff members assist individuals and families to achieve their goals. Using this process, the team helps each person discover and reach their hopes and dreams for the future. Emphasis is placed upon building self-advocacy skills, confidence, and independence.
James (Jim) Moon comes to Lookout Mountain Community Services with forty-three years of experience in the Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled field having worked both in hospital and community settings. He was the Director of the I/DD program in 1975 when the program began providing services in the four county service area, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker. Mr. Moon has also served as a County DFCS Director and was an Investigator with DBHDD for four years before he rejoined the Lookout Mountain Community Services team. Mr. Moon is married to Aletia Dupree Moon and currently lives in Calhoun, Georgia.
